5 Problems with Kagan Testimony ....

VaRight Documents the Nominee talking out of 2 sides of her face

To Jeff Sessions she says... ELENA KAGAN: “I’m Not Quite Sure How I Would Characterize My Politics.”

but to Lindsey Grahma she says.... ELENA KAGAN: “My Political Views Are Generally Progressive.”

She also says....ELENA KAGAN: “It Wouldn’t Be Appropriate For Me To Talk About What I Think About Past Cases, You Know, To Grade Cases Because Those Cases Themselves Might Again Come Before The Court.” (Elena Kagan, Judiciary Committee, U.S. Senate, Hearing, 6/29/10)

But in 1995 she said...ELENA KAGAN: “The Problem Is Not That Senators Engage In Substantive Discussion With Supreme Court Nominees; The Problem Is That They Do Not. Senators Effectively Have Accepted The Limits On Inquiry. … The Challenge Now Is To Over-Throw Them.”

Masseuse Comes Out Swinging. Will it mean the end of the world?

"AL GORE is a pervert and sexual predator," declares MOLLY HAGERTY, 54, the massage therapist who told Portland, Ore. police that the ex-VICE President sexually assaulted her.

"He's not what people think he is - he's a sick man!"
"I want justice served," Hagerty said as she reveals the key witness who could blow the case wide open, the secret hotel video surveillance and the DNA evidence!

Finally she got away. Later, she talked to friends, liberals like herself, who advised against telling police. One asked her "to just suck it up; otherwise, the world's going to be destroyed from global warming."

North Carolina Senator Praises Klansman

Trent Lott Kay Hagan either meant what he she said, or he she didn’t. In either case, if Lott Hagan does not resign voluntarily as Senate majority leader from the Senate Armed Services Committee, his her Republican Democratic colleagues should fire him her.

At the 100th birthday party for retiring Sen. Strom Thurmond on Dec. 5, Lott discovery that Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia had passed away, Lott noted that his home state of Mississippi had voted for Thurmond when he ran for president in 1948 Hagan noted that Senator Byrd was a devoted public servant, skillful orator and champion of the chamber. “We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead,” Lott continued, “we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years, either. Soon after I was elected, I had the privilege of presiding over the Senate with Senator Byrd on the floor,” Hagan continued, “I told him of my deep admiration for his service.”

Thurmond Byrd, then the governor of South Carolina the Senator from West Virginia, was the candidate of the Dixiecrat Party a member of the Ku Klux Klan, whose sole reason for being was to preserve segregation. So more than a few people wonder what “problems” “service” Lott Hagan had in mind that he she thought would have been averted had Thurmond been elected in 1948 were so worthy of admiration? Blacks not being allowed in public schools? Blacks voting being taken away? Blacks not being allowed to buying a home in Lott’s Hagan’s neighborhood?

“Any suggestion that the segregated past was acceptable or positive is offensive and it is wrong,” President Bush Rush Limbaugh said yesterday. “Recent comments by Sen. Lott Hagan do not reflect the spirit of our country.”

I don’t believe Lott Hagan is a bigot who longs for the “good old days” when blacks in the South were denied civil rights. I think he she went overboard in an oleaginous tribute to a remarkable man who long ago (at least in public) repented of his segregationist ways.

But I’m not entirely sure. The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., reported this week that in 1980 Lott, a member of the House of Representatives at the time, had made a very similar remark at a campaign event at which Thurmond spoke. And Lott did get his start in politics as an aide to Sen. James Eastland, D-Miss., arguably the biggest racist in Congress at that time.

And Doug Thompson, in his web log, The Rant, quotes two former Senate staffers who said they have heard Lott utter racial slurs in private. Senator Byrd was openly racist and uttered racist slurs as a matter of policy when he was a member in good standing with the Ku Klux Klan.

The only possible defense for Lott Hagan — that he she is an idiot, not a bigot — is an insufficient reason to keep him her in a leadership position the committee.......................

"As simple as that."

President Obama said....

Those were the same hopes of another generation of Americans and Russians -- the generation that stood together as allies in the Second World War —- the Great Patriotic War in which the Russian people suffered and sacrificed so much. We recently marked the 65th anniversary of our shared victory in that war, including that historic moment when American and Soviet troops came together in friendship at the Elbe River in Germany.

A reporter who was there at that time, all those years ago, said: “If there is a fine, splendid world in the future, it will largely be because the United States and Russia get on well together. If it is in trouble, it will be because they don’t get on well. It’s as simple as that.”

Mr. President, the decades that followed saw many troubles -- too many troubles. But 65 years later, it’s still as simple as that. Our countries are more secure and the world is safer when the United States and Russia get on well together.

President Obama,
I am sure you believe the words you spoke. You probably do think that it is "as simple as that." I am sure you have been taught an of version of revised history at the tables of Frank Marshall Davis, Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers. They probably told you the stories of a Utopia, not reality.

It was not "As simple as that." Ask the people of Eastern Europe if it was "As simple as that."
I am sure the Poles, Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Hungarians, Slavs, Croats, Bosnians, Romanians and Croats don't think it was "As simple as that."When the Soviet Union used its troops to invade Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968, I am sure they did not think it was "As simple as that."To the millions killed, starved, imprisoned in the Soviet Union, I am sure it was not "As simple as that."Ask the victims of the Stasi, the KGB, and the other secret police forces of the Soviet Empire, if it was "As simple as that."I am sure that the people imprisoned in Norilsk, Vorkuta, and Magadan, did not think it was "As simple as that."I am sure that the people who were forced to stay behind the Berlin Wall did not think that it was "As simple as that."

Oil Skimmer Held up by Government.

After making a brief stop in Norfolk for refueling, U.S. Coast Guard inspections and an all-out publicity blitz intended to drum up public support, a giant tanker billed as the world’s largest oil skimming vessel set sail Friday for the Gulf of Mexico where it hopes to assist in the oil-cleanup effort.

The Taiwanese-owned, Liberian-flagged ship dubbed the “A Whale” stands 10 stories high, stretches 1,115 feet in length and has a nearly 200-foot beam. It displaces more water than an aircraft carrier. …
But a number of hurdles stand in his way. TMT officials said the company does not yet have government approval to assist in the cleanup or a contract with BP to perform the work.
That’s part of the reason the ship was tied to pier at the Virginia Port Authority’s Norfolk International Terminals Friday morning. TMT and its public-relations agency invited scores of media, elected officials and maritime industry executives to an hour-long presentation about how the ship could provide an immediate boost to clean-up efforts in the Gulf.

TMT also paid to fly in Edward Overton, a professor emeritus of environmental sciences at Louisiana State University, to get a look at the massive skimmer.

Overton blasted BP and the federal government for a lack of effort and coordination in their dual oil-spill response and made a plea to the government to allow the A Whale to join the cleanup operation.

We couldn't throw out the oil lanterns just because Ben Franklin discovered electricity.

We had to wait until Thomas Edison
developed the lightbulb
and mass produced the product.

Many of the same people who wax poetically about trips to the gulf, or walks in the mountains would be the first to condemn the very people who provided the energy required for those trips.

It is about 800 miles from Staunton to the Gulf Coast. I doubt if too many people will walk or bike that distance. They will fly or drive. Will they use oil based products for that trip? And even if the person takes his bicycle, will they ask themselves how the tires were made. How was the bicycle forged? How did it get to Staunton? The fancy walking shoes that the hiker wears on his hike, where were they made? Are there any synthetics used in the process? They might want water on the trek. Will that be from plastic bottles?

Will the person who wants only green energy say OK when they cover the mountain meadow with solar panels? Will he say OK when they want to clear the mountain tops for the wind turbines? Will they say yes to an ocean platform with wind turbines? The Kennedys said no to that. Will the person say no to all the oil based products that make his home more energy efficient? Will he give up his air conditioning in the summer? His heating in the winter? Will they say "Not in my backyard" when it comes to new energy?

I want to see all forms of energy utilized. I want solar panels. I want Wind turbines. I want oil, coal, hydropower to be maximized. I want to see conservation and recycling. I want to see nuclear power developed. We need to develop all sources of energy. We need to promote the study of energy. I want it safely utilized.
We must work very hard to find new sources of energy. We also have to realize that there are costs for everything. We cannot say no to oil, until we have a replacement. We couldn't throw out the oil lanterns just because Ben Franklin discovered electricity.
We had to wait until Thomas Edison developed the lightbulb and mass produced the product.

There are clearly problems associated with energy production. There are accidents. The Gulf, Chernobyl, Bhopal, Love Canal, etc. are examples. We must work very hard to prevent those things from happening. When an event occurs, we must gather all our resources and respond. We should fix the problem, not worry about fixing the blame. We clearly must hold the people responsible for these things accountable for mistakes, preventable accidents and such, but that need not be done until the problem is fixed. If a situation occurs out of criminal acts, there should be swift justice and long jail sentences. If an accident occurs because someone wanted to save a few dollars, that person should be held strictly accountable.

Waynesboro Stabbing.

The Waynesboro Police Department is investigating the stabbing death of a 38 year old Waynesboro man that occurred in the alley behind 260 N. Commerce Ave.

Officers were summoned to the scene at approximately 9:10 P.M., June 27th, 2010 and on arrival found the victim bleeding heavily from a stab wound where he had collapsed near the intersection of 7TH Street and N. Delphine Ave. He was rushed to Augusta Health by the Waynesboro First Aid Crew where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigation reveals that an altercation occurred in the alley between the victim and at least one other person when he was stabbed at least once in the torso. The victim then ran and collapsed where he was found by responding officers. It was further determined that four male Hispanic subjects, including the assailant, fled in a primer black Ford, possibly late 80’s model Taurus or Escort. No tag or direction of travel was observed.

Additionally it was reported that some of the subjects involved have ongoing gang affiliations, however it is undetermined whether tonight’s altercation itself was gang related.

Police are withholding the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin and request anyone with information about the case or the location of suspect(s) or vehicle to contact the department at 540-942-6675 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-2017.

Rep.Paul Ryan Says Republicans are not the Party of NO

The Republican's 1st Step

Hello – I’m Paul Ryan – I work for the people of Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District and I serve as the top Republican on the House Budget Committee. Yes, Congress does have a budget committee, but I’m afraid it hasn’t been very busy this year. In fact, this week the House Majority Leader announced that Democrats are canceling this year’s budget. Instead of reining in out-of-control spending that has pushed our total national debt past $13 trillion, Democrats have made clear their intention to raise taxes on middle-class families to fuel their continued spending spree...... Job Losses

While the private sector has lost almost 8 million jobs since the start of the current recession in January 2008, the public sector (Government) has created 590 thousand. Since the passage of the so called stimulus bill in February 2009 the public sector added 400 thousand jobs. The private sector on the other hand has lost 2.65 million jobs since the pork barrel bill was passed.

Gore Accuser Speaks......

26 Minutes Long.....
She is either very professional,or very well rehearsed.
She was reading her story. It was several months after the incident.
I am dubious, but she says she is not interested in money.
Though.....The 54-year-old massage therapist asked the National Enquirer’s executive editor for $1 million, according to reports.

Barry Levine, executive editor of the National Enquirer said the tabloid – which initially reported the story this week– had a brief interview with the woman. Through her lawyer she agreed to sell the story but “no money exchanged hands.”

She said he was acting like a "Crazed Sex Poodle".
"Distressed Shocked and Terrified" was what she felt.
"He is rotund"
"No was not a word he was used to hearing or respected"
"How do you rectify this with your wife?"
"Really Freaked Out"
"He flipped me on my back"

A Message for New Grads...

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your
Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually
have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Many People give credit to Bill Gates for the above advice, but it really comes from a work by Charles Sykes

13 Minutes is too long.....

Pugh.jpg

The UK Mail reports............

Real couples are satisfied with making love for between three and 13 minutes – and can find anything over ten minutes tiresome.

Researchers Eric Corty and Jenay Guardiani conducted a survey of 50 members of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research. They have collectively seen thousands of patients over decades in the U.S. and Canada.

They were asked to rate a range of times for sexual intercourse that they considered adequate, desirable, too short and too long.

Most of them classed lovemaking that lasted three to seven minutes as ‘adequate’ and sex lasting between seven and 13 minutes as ‘desirable’.

However, anything longer than 13 minutes was rated ‘too long.’

And now his TV Network is on the trading block....

For much of the past year, Current TV has been quietly undergoing an overhaul that will change just about everything but the struggling channel's name. Current declined comment for this story. It's a revitalization project Gore & Co. embarked on after exhausting a more lucrative possibility: selling the channel. Current's founding partner, Joel Hyatt, spent much of 2009 shopping the network with a price tag that wildly overestimated the company's worth, confirmed sources at several media firms. Current even had extensive sale talks as far back as 2007 with Google, where Gore serves as a senior advisor.
