One "Repub" gets paid by McAuliffe for Endorsement BIG NEWS. A Dem switches to Cooch for principles...not so big

An excellent contrast that illustrate's theWashington Post's bias is how it has handled the back-to-back defections of Republican strategist Boyd Marcus and Democratic activist David  Saunders. The former is backing McAuliffe and the latter is endorsing Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. The Post devoted stories to both men's decisions to buck the party line, but staff writer Laura Vozzella had a considerably longer piece on the front page of Metro which painted Marcus's move as a harbinger of a deeper GOP party split.........

Marcus Boyd, one of Virginia's best-known GOP strategists, Marcus gave his own shock to political observers last month by endorsing and going to work for Terry McAuliffe, the former Democratic National Committee chairman running for governor.......


Saunders said there's no way he would take money from Cuccinelli's campaign if he decided to go further in helping them. Saunders, who identified himself as a Jacksonian Democrat, also said there are plenty of other disaffected Democrats like him, particularly in Southwest Virginia, where people who depend on the coal industry feel left behind by the Democratic Party's focus on environmental issues.

When Maria Gianni is knocking on voters' doors, she's not bashful about telling people she is in the country illegally. She knows it's a risk to advertise to strangers that she's here illegally -- but one worth taking in what she sees as a crucial election.

The 42-year-old is one of dozens of volunteers -- many of them illegal immigrants -- canvassing neighborhoods in the Seattle area trying to get naturalized citizens to cast a ballot for candidates like Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, who is in a neck-to-neck race with Republican Dino Rossi.

Pramila Jayapal, head of OneAmerica Votes, says the campaign is about empowering immigrants who may not feel like they can contribute to a campaign because they can't vote.(Immigrants are different that illegal aliens Pramila)

"Immigrants really do matter," Jayapal said. "If we can't vote ourselves, we're gonna knock on doors, or get family members to vote."

Cincinnati Public Schools Pushing Kids To Vote Dem??? UPDATE

It seems like that might be the case according to Cincinnati.com.
A complaint was made by Thomas Brinkman Jr., a Republican candidate for Hamilton County auditor against Cincinnati Public Schools.
The suit alleges three van loads of Hughes High students arrived at the Downtown Board of Elections offices at 1 p.m. Wednesday, supervised by a school employee. School lets out at 3:15 p.m.
When they got out of the vans, the students, the suit alleges, also were accompanied by adults who appeared to be campaign workers or supporters for U.S. Rep. Steve Driehaus, D-West Price Hill.
The suit alleges they were given sample ballots containing only Democratic candidates.
The suit alleges those actions violated a 2002 agreement between Cincinnati Public Schools and the Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending Taxes where the school agreed it wouldn’t allow school property or employees to be used for “advocating the election or defeat of candidates for public office.”

Cameraman assaulted at Dem event..

The Pennsylvania Republican Party has released video from a Joe Sestak rally that appears to show a Republican cameraman being harassed and assaulted by Sestak supporters. The event took place on Saturday in downtown Pittsburgh.

Mike Barley, Pennsylvania Republican Party communications director, spoke to Battle ‘10 about the incident. “This type of activity is completely out of line,” said Barley.

“We would certainly not condone this type of behavior at any of our events and neither should the Sestak campaign. It is clear that many of Joe Sestak’s supporters are frustrated by the campaign’s inability to get any traction in Pennsylvania, but that is no excuse to resort to physical violence.”
