The super-mega rich billionaire NEW YORK CITY mayor, Michael Bloomberg  will be laundering his NY dollars through Independence USA PAC into broadcast television commercials in the D.C. market, according to two sources tracking the air war.

Michael Bloomberg’s pro-gun-control super PAC will drop $1.1 million on ads for Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the final two weeks of the Virginia governor’s race.

“Terry McAuliffe and his allies are spending tens of millions of dollars in an attempt to buy Virginia’s governor’s mansion and impose an idealogical agenda that will severely restrict Virginian’s Second Amendment rights, hike energy prices for Virginia families and undermine our right-to-work laws,” said Cuccinelli communications director Richard T. Cullen.
“McAuliffe’s liberal supporters like Steyer and now Mayor Bloomberg aren’t pumping millions into this race for a few laughs,” said Cullen. “They’re doing so because they expect a return on their investment.”

17th Amendment

But Congressmen should know the Constitution.

I don't know if Frank Lobiondo does or does not know the US Constitution. Clearly he is not a Constitutional Scholar.But asking numbers and exact quotations won't get a clear picture of a person's knowledge.
I can tell you that all Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives, but what section that comes from is not pertinent.
I know that the US Constitution says that we shall not have any nobility, but I don't know exactly which section it comes from.
I know where the legislative powers are centered, but knowing the exact spot is irrelevant.
I can name all the parts of the Bill of Rights, but other than the 1st, 2nd,4th and 5th, I would have a difficult time telling you which is which. Which one says that there shall be no excessive fines? Does it matter the number? I know it is in there.
Is it important that we know exactly what the 19th Amendment says?Or is it important that we know that the right to vote shall not be infringed by sex?

Can Washington Make You Buy Health Insurance?

The health care debate is monumentally important on all possible grounds: not least on the question of what happens if Congress gets away with ordering the American people to buy health insurance -- and if the American people knuckle under. Yes, what next for us, comrades?

Just about anything Congress decides to do in the name of uplift seems to be constitutional: In other words, in accord with written stipulations as to what the national government may and may not do.

Several problems arise concerning this fine theory:

-- It's nonsense. It contravenes the whole constitutional concept of divided powers: particular functions reserved to particular branches of government. And other powers divided between states and the national government.

-- It threatens liberty. A government that knows no limits to its power can be counted on to step more and more heavily on citizens' rights and privileges. All for the "general good" naturally!

-- It divides the citizens. On the one hand, those who want particular favors from government; on the other hand, those who deny that government has the right to dispense such favors.

The Obama administration, which desperately wants health care to pass, brushes off such concerns as cranky and relevant mainly to wild-eyed Limbaugh and Palin fans, when in fact concerns about the rightful exercise of government power should inform every legislative debate. Those it doesn't inform are likely to end badly.
