Zdravstvujtye From Staten Island

According to SILive News Story from my old stomping grounds, in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty....
Many Russian immigrants to the "red borough" of Staten Island are flocking to the Republican Party, saying that the national Democrats' "socialistic" policies remind them too much of the top-down oligarchy they fled in their native land.

"We decided we had to support this (Republican)club," said Businessman Arkadiy Fridman, a former Soviet Army officer who came to the United States in 1992. "They are very close to our political and business vision."

In the wake of the national GOP's big wins this year, when the party took back control of the House, Republicans everywhere are more confident that their bedrock message of smaller government and lower taxes will resonate with American voters.

Fridman said that the Democrats "are going in an absolutely different direction," focusing on "income redistribution" and rich-versus-poor "class war."

"It's too socialistic,"
said Fridman, head of the non-profit Staten Island Community Center and president of Citizens Magazine, a public affairs publication. "It's very painful for us to see."

Virtucon asks.....Who Are The Team Players Again?

Va Virtucon writes......
The media is making much about a supposed “civil war” within the Republican Party.
They have an explanation...........

.............when moderates / the establishment lose, they behave like sore losers and take actions to hurt the party. When conservatives lose, they accept it and get behind the candidate that the voters selected. I don’t ever want to hear another moderate complain that conservatives are hurting the party and aren’t team players.

How Republicans Can Win

Nationalize the Election.
Even if Scott Brown doesn't pull it out, we have to remember that Massachusetts is over 3 to 1 Democrat. If it is a squeaker up there, what will it do to Dems in Red States? They will say "WHOAAAA ! ! ! !, I am not going down in flames just to support President Obama."

“Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.” -Saul Alinsky

The economy in 2009 and 2010 was and is far worse than it ever was in 2004. The unemployment rate in 2004 was 5.5%. Today, it’s 10%.
“Show Us the Jobs.” was a campaign by the AFL-CIO back then.
Kyle Olsonover at BigGovernment says..
that the Republicans should adopt that Slogan for 2010

If the Republican Senators are actually against "Obamacare", they can show it.

JUST SAY NO, or I OBJECT

The majority of Americans have said no to Obamacare. Many Americans have spent their own dollars travelling to DC to voice their opinion. The Grassroots are stirring. They want the Republicans to prove they are different, not just Democrat-lite.

How can they do that?
Over at Redstate they suggest the Senators.......
Stop constantly agreeing to “unanimous consent” requests from the Democrats.

The most powerful words in the Senate are “I object.” Senate Republicans should have been shouting those two words on the Senate floor early and often from the moment this bill was considered, instead of the complete silence we have heard.

If a Republican Senator suggested the absence of a quorum, Democrats could not transact business on the bill.

The Republicans should be constantly bringing up constitutional points of order, one after another, on every questionable provision.

The Republicans should be offering one amendment after another on all of their favorite issues such as guns, abortion, elimination of the death tax, ending the TARP program, and gay marriage in the District of Columbia. (Offer your own amendments on portability, medicare fraud, tort reform, real reform)

Republicans should be forcing the reading of the bill and every single amendment, not consenting to waiving that requirement.

Harry doubles down with race card.

"At pivotal points in American history, the tactics of distortion and delay have certainly been present," Reid said. "They've certainly been used to stop progress. That's what we're talking about here. That's what's happening here. It's very clear. That's the point I made — no more, no less. Anyone who willingly distorts my comments is only proving my point."-Harry Reid said, according to The Hill

Well the delays on Civil Rights and Voting rights are well known. He can ask Senator Byrd how it was done by the Democrats. He had a 14 day filibuster in regards. See this history here

And lest he forget, Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. We know where he stood on the slavery issue. Where were the delays coming from then? Oh Yeah, The Democrats.

Joseph H. Rainey (June 21, 1832 – August 1, 1887) was the first African American person to serve in the United States House of Representatives. He was a Republican.
Also the first woman, Jeannette Pickering Rankin, and the first Mexican-American José Antonio Romualdo Pacheco See more here

Just a thought on Republicans and Dems.

If the Republicans are the party of the rich, and have to maintain rich people in order to exist,(according to the Democrats) the logic that follows is that the Dems are the party of the poor, and have to maintain poor people in order to exist.
