The apparatchiks and their use of language in the local paper

"The Democrat politburo pushed through their socialist agenda on Obamacare. It was the most calculated exercise in cynical politics since the Bolsheviks liquidated the Mensheviks."

Would that have been an acceptable quote for the apparatchiks over at the local paper?
That would have been roughly equivalent to their comment on Tea Parties and Race.
If they wanted to suggest that the Tea Party movement was strong and building, maybe they should have said "like the Contract with America" or Ronald Reagan's 2nd Presidential election.
No one believes that they were not trying to couple race with the Tea Party and Republicans.

And my response pointed out the hypocrisy of the Democrats on race.
It also showed the positive history of the Republicans.
