The super-mega rich billionaire NEW YORK CITY mayor, Michael Bloomberg will be laundering his NY dollars through Independence USA PAC into broadcast television commercials in the D.C. market, according to two sources tracking the air war. Michael Bloomberg’s pro-gun-control super PAC will drop $1.1 million on ads for Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the final two weeks of the Virginia governor’s race. “Terry McAuliffe and his allies are spending tens of millions of dollars in an attempt to buy Virginia’s governor’s mansion and impose an idealogical agenda that will severely restrict Virginian’s Second Amendment rights, hike energy prices for Virginia families and undermine our right-to-work laws,” said Cuccinelli communications director Richard T. Cullen. “McAuliffe’s liberal supporters like Steyer and now Mayor Bloomberg aren’t pumping millions into this race for a few laughs,” said Cullen. “They’re doing so because they expect a return on their investment.” Read more here
The man who caught a police officer on camera removing his pro-Second Amendment sign from his front yard says his “First Amendment rights are being stifled” — and he takes his constitutional rights very seriously.
Neighbors said an elderly woman was fed up with constant harassment from a 12-year-old boy, so she took a gun and shot the child after he and his friends threw bricks into her home.......
"They threw a brick through her window," neighbor Rafael Ramirez said Wednesday. "I think she gave them as much warning as I think she could." She called police and they came, but after officers left, the boy came back. That was when Matthews responded with gunfire. Read more here
Gun owner Gregg C. Revell was flying from Salt Lake City, UT, to Allentown, PA, by way of Minneapolis, MN, and Newark, NJ.Revell had an unloaded firearm that was legally checked in his luggage, which he was to pick up upon his arrival in Allentown.
That was the plan, but things soon went awry.Revell's flight into Newark was delayed, causing him to miss his connecting flight to Allentown.He was able to book a seat on the next flight, but that course of action was changed by the airline. He then tried to take a bus, but his luggage didn't make it to the bus on time.He retrieved his luggage, but missed the bus.With no more connections to Allentown until the following morning, Revell went (with his luggage, of course) directly to, and stayed the night at, the Airport Sheraton Hotel.By this time, Revell had been through a lot, but his real trouble was just beginning.
The next morning, Revell returned with his luggage directly to the airport.He checked his luggage and, as he was supposed to, told the agent that he had an unloaded firearm stored in a locked case in his luggage.It was at this point that Revell's destination changed from Allentown to a Newark jail cell.He was arrested on the spot because New Jersey law requires a permit to possess a handgun (and also bans the hollow-point ammunition that Revell also had in a separate locked container in his luggage), and as soon as Revell's luggage became "readily accessible" to him (in this case, when he took possession of his luggage to go to the hotel) he violated state law..........
After spending four days in a Newark jail cell, Revell was released on bail. Revell was eventually cleared of all charges, but he didn't get his firearm and other property back until almost three years later.
With help from the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund, Revell sued for damages related to his unjust arrest and detention (as a violation of his civil rights), but lost, with the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit's finding that Revell was not covered under FOPA's narrowly defined safe harbor provision.
Not only is this poor woman put through the wringer, it sounds like the guy breaking in was out of his gourd: They didn’t know each other, yet he was screaming threats and resorted to throwing patio furniture through the back door to get in. Reportedly, when the cops found his sister to let her know, she was so high she was nearly unconscious, so that’s the theory for his behavior at the moment. No word yet on what he was on. There is NO "Gun Show Loop Hole". Ain't no such animal folks. It is a bogus argument thought up by the the likes of ChuckieSchumeretal. There are federally licensed dealers at gun shows who have to abide by all the laws that exist in gun stores. Any gun purchased from a dealer has to undergo a background check. There are private citizens also at gun shows looking to buy and sell guns.
Mayor Bloomberg sent another bunch of "undercover" investigators around the country and found that there were some people conducting illegal business. A video was released
The "private" sellers were already breaking a number of laws. The law says that the following people can not buy guns: * Those convicted of crimes punishable by imprisonment for over one year, except state misdemeanors punishable by two years or less. * Fugitives from justice. * Unlawful users of certain depressant, narcotic, or stimulant drugs. * Those adjudicated as mental defectives or incompetents or those committed to any mental institution. * Illegal aliens. * Citizens who have renounced their citizenship. * Those persons dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces. * Persons less than 18 years of age for the purchase of a shotgun or rifle. * Persons less than 21 years of age for the purchase of a firearm that is other than a shotgun or rifle. * Persons subject to a court order that restrains such persons from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner. * Persons convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
The buyers in question stated that they could not pass a background check. The unlicensed dealer sold it to them any way. The private individual violated a law. Does Bloomberg think that adding another law on the books would be followed anymore diligently? Under current federal law, it is illegal to “engage in the business” of “dealing in firearms” without a license from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. “Engaged in the business” means buying and selling firearms as a regular business with the objective of profit.
A licensed dealer may do business temporarily at a gun show, just as he could at his permanent licensed premises. Every legal requirement applies equally at both types of location, including background checks and record keeping on all transactions.
People who “engage in the business” without a license can be arrested and convicted of a federal felony—whether they “engage in business” at a gun show, or out of a home, office, or vehicle.
A 2006 FBI study of criminals who attacked law enforcement officers found that within their sample, “None of the [attackers’] rifles, shotguns, or handguns … were obtained from gun shows or related activities.” Ninety-seven percent of guns in the study were obtained illegally, and the assailants interviewed had nothing but contempt for gun laws.
A Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) report on “Firearms Use by Offenders” found that fewer than 1% of U.S. “crime guns” came from gun shows, with repeat offenders even less likely than first-timers to buy guns from any retail source.
I was handing out literature when Webb was running for Senate. There was a fellow there decked out in camo, handing out stuff for Webb. I asked him if he was a hunter. He gave a big affirmative on that one. He said he loves to hunt. I asked him,"How could he support the Democrat party. They are big time gun grabbers." Chuck Schumer will take your guns in a heartbeat. Hillary Clinton supported her hubbies "assault weapon" ban. The Democrats support strict gun control. Carolyn Maloney, the list goes on. Just this year alone they proposed the Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009.ABC reported that President Obama wans to reinstitute the gun ban.
CNN reports....... A man toting an assault rifle was among a dozen protesters carrying weapons while demonstrating outside President Obama's speech to veterans on Monday, but no laws were broken. It was the second instance in recent days in which weapons have been seen near presidential events. BUT WHY????????? BECAUSE HE CAN. IT IS LEGAL Protect the 2nd Amendment.
"I'm exercising my right as an American in Arizona," he said. "I'm actually totally against healthcare in this way, in this manner, stealing it from people. I don't think that's appropriate."
The man also carried a hand gun on his hip and a round of ammunition in his back pocket, all completely legal.

Spank that Donk mentions that the Republican Convention was packin' heat. There were a number of 2nd Amendment groups visible at the Convention. The Virginia Citizens Defense League made people aware of the value of a firearm. LOTS of people were wearing their stickers. GUNS SAVE LIVES.
