66,000 Americans are older than 100 ! ! !
THREE CHEERS FOR THE SENIORS ! !
The most rapid growth in numbers is among the "oldest old." According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are currently 66,000 Americans older than 100, which is 20 times the number of centenarians who were alive in 1960.
Reuters thought it was a news story that there are 40000 Japanese people over 100.
So I guess 66,000 Americans would be an even bigger story? Pass this on to Reuters, and see if they can get a story on Drudge about that.

We don't have a HEALTH CARE Problem in US.

There are many people without insurance, but they are not denied medical care. What we have is a percentage of our population that are not insured, either by a private company, or the Government. The cost of their medical care is transferred to the rest of us, by higher premiums, or higher taxes. Obama's plan would get those people insured, but at what cost? Will it improve their care? Not likely. Will it improve our own? Not likely. Will we pay higher taxes? Most likely.
We have a good HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.
Scott W. Atlas, over at the Hoover Institute published some items about our healthcare system.
He says.........
Americans have better survival rates than Europeans for common cancers.
Americans have lower cancer mortality rates than Canadians.
Americans have better access to treatment for chronic diseases than patients in other developed countries.
Americans have better access to preventive cancer screening than Canadians.
Lower-income Americans are in better health than comparable Canadians.
Americans spend less time waiting for care than patients in Canada and the United Kingdom.
People in countries with more government control of health care are highly dissatisfied and believe reform is needed.
Americans are more satisfied with the care they receive than Canadians.
Americans have better access to important new technologies such as medical imaging than do patients in Canada or Britain.
Americans are responsible for the vast majority of all health care innovations.
