Deeds Drifting Deeper,Dumped Dem Demogogue
Thesis Thwarting Tantrum?
Is the DNC holding back the $$$ because Deeds is a one trick pony?
Over at the CampaignSpot, they write..........
The bad poll news comes on the heels of a story circulating in Democratic circles today that the Democratic National Committee is reportedly holding on to its $5 million financial commitment to the Deeds campaign out of concern that the Deeds campaign has focused too much of its attention on the controversial Bob McDonnell 1989 grad-school thesis setting out a hardline social-conservative political agenda for his budding political career and not enough on putting down a framework for what a Deeds administration would do for Virginia.

Creigh Deeds actually showed up.
McDonnell, Deeds make pitches at Virginia Union.
Both Candidates appeared at the university, even though Creigh Deeds was afraid to be seen on the stage with Bob McDonnell.
McDonnell said he shares President Barack Obama's support for charter schools, which operate largely independent of a central bureaucracy, as a way to revive urban educational systems.
McDonnell said later that, while there is a Democratic tradition among blacks, "I'm not writing one vote off."
Creigh Deeds, Mark R. Warner, and John H. Chichester were all on hand to remind people that
CREIGH DEEDS WILL RAISE YOUR TAXES
See the story here

McDonnell answers back
H/T to the lovely lady over at Crystal Clear
Hey look, the Washington Post caught up with my blog....

On Monday I posted on Deeds Flip flopping on Police pay and collective bargaining.
Well in today's WAPO they have the headline.........
Deeds on the Defensive Over Collective Bargaining Positions.
They write.....
Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate R. Creigh Deeds found himself in hot water with two organizations representing state public safety employees Tuesday after he gave the groups differing answers about whether he supports collective bargaining for law enforcement personnel.

Creigh Deeds Flips again on pay for cops
Candidate for Governor Creigh Deeds was speaking before the Virginia Sheriffs Association's annual conference.
Creigh was asked specifically if he supported collective bargaining. Senator Deeds initially stated that he did not support collective bargaining for constitutional officers. When asked if he supported collective bargaining for police departments the Senator responded that he does not support collective bargaining for public safety period.
The Senator initially tried to dismiss his response to the Sheriffs associations question by blaming a junior staffer. He said that the wrong answer had been checked on the questionnaire.
The first question we asked in an FOP survey this year was on collective bargaining.
1. In the US Congress, HR 413 is a bill designed to provide collective bargaining rights for pubic safety officers employed by States or their political subdivisions has been introduced. If passed, this bill will allow for the first time in Virginia the right of public safety employees to meet and confer with their employers to negotiate wages and benefits. It is well known that Virginia is one of only a few states that has right to work laws. This Bill is on of the FOP top priorities in Congress. As Governor what would your position be on the passage of this bill and the right of public safety employees to meet and confer?
Creigh Deeds response to the above question.
I am a strong supporter of collective bargaining rights for public safety employees. As a legislator, I have voted for the right of workers to meet and confer. As governor, I will continue to support meet and confer for public safety employees in Virginia.
I wonder why the Senator has flipped flop his opinion on collective bargaining.

Will WAPO have 11 days on Deeds' Homophobia?
Creigh Deeds in a campaign mailer: “NO SPECIAL RIGHTS FOR GAYS”.
"I don’t believe in discrimination, but I don’t believe in special rights for anyone. I have never voted to allow gay partners to receive medical insurance — or any other benefit — from the state. It’s sad that Mr. Collins has to resort to bigotry and hate-mongering."
H/T TooConservative
The Washington post has had 12 articles in 11 days on a 20 year old thesis. Will they go 12 for 11 on Deeds?

You can tell a lot about a person by his friends
I was handing out literature when Webb was running for Senate. There was a fellow there decked out in camo, handing out stuff for Webb. I asked him if he was a hunter. He gave a big affirmative on that one. He said he loves to hunt. I asked him,"How could he support the Democrat party. They are big time gun grabbers." He said Jim Webb told him personally that he would never go after his guns. I said, he might not personally, but you have to remember who is friends are going to be in his party. Chuck Schumer will take your guns in a heartbeat. Hillary Clinton supported her hubbies "assault weapon" ban. The Democrats support strict gun control. Carolyn Maloney, the list goes on. Just this year alone they proposed the Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009.ABC reported that President Obama wans to reinstitute the gun ban.

"Cooter" Deeds Just Doesn't Have His Priorities Correct
While Creigh "Cooter" Deeds is still trying to shift the discussion of the governor’s race onto social issues,Bob McDonnell remains steadfast in dealing with the issues that Virginians care about in their daily lives — jobs, the economy, taxes, transportation, and public safety. That is what he has done as a legislator and as our Attorney General and that is what Governor McDonnell will do come January 2010, Va Virtucon basically writes.
