Republican Scott Brown wins in Mass.

52% SCOTT BROWN (R) 1,153,808
47% MARTHA COAKLEY (D)D: 1,052,391

Scott Brown became the first Republican to win a U.S. Senate
race in Massachusetts in 30 years Tuesday, seizing the seat held by the late Edward Kennedy.

State Attorney General Martha Coakley conceded just after 9 p.m., little more than an hour after the polls closed, The Boston Globe reported. She entered the race seemingly almost certain of victory, only to be defeated by Brown, a little-known state senator when he declared his candidacy.See the UPI story here
