Rep. Anthony Wiener says that Government would be alternative to "Insurance Monopoly"

There are 3200 different insurance companies.
"What do we get from insurance companies?", he asks.
It is the free market dude.
Weiner wants to eliminate private insurance.
Weiner wants to eliminate private companies.
Weiner thinks that Medicare is going to survive.
DUDE, SEE HOW WELL IT WORKS IN CUBA.
He says how does Walmart offer $4 prescriptions.
They are generics dude. The drug companies make their money on new drugs. They use this money for R&D. Where will that money come from dude? OH YEAH, more Taxes.
Scarborough asks "How do we save by adding more to a government plan that is already failing???

  1. In Cuba there are 2 medical systems. One for the regular folks and that is a sewar. For the Gov't and rich tourists theclinics are like 3 star hotels and cost a nice buck.

    A patent on a medicine lasts 5 yrs before it becomes a generic. Phar. Co. spend billions in resarch for certain meds that help a very small segment of the population. The cost of creating said meds leads to a difficult balance between r&d and profit. If we go by the gov'ts desire we may not have much Lipitor or Tegretol. Prices are inflated because of the need to profit quickly before a med becomes a generic. If this is halted...so will the amount of r&d. Resarch will center on Meds that have a guaranteed profit margin.
