President Obama forgets Fort Hood Terror Attack by Nidal Malik Hasan

The first week of November proved historic with the Democrat mauling in the mid-term elections and the 10^th anniversary of the crews aboard the international space station, but there was one notable event that went unnoticed by the White House. The first anniversary of the Fort Hood massacre.
President Obama’s remarks a year ago were odd enough leading with an unpresidential and out of touch “shout out,” but for the White House to completely ignore the Ft. Hood anniversary is disturbing.
Obama, though he likes to remind himself that he is the commander-in-chief, has always demonstrated his disdain for our troops and seemingly cannot help it. Ignoring Ft. Hood is just another example.
America lost 14, yes 14, lives that day. The Hill reported:

Meanwhile the Fort Hood shooting anniversary was noted by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas).

“On today’s one year anniversary of the shooting at Fort Hood, my thoughts are with the families who lost loved…,” he said, linking to a statement.

Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas), in a later series of tweets, plugged the Fort Hood Families Benefits Protection Act which treats victims and their families as if they had been in combat action.

There were no statements or Tweets from the White House or Robert Gibbs regarding Ft. Hood. However, Obama did mention, in his statements upon arrival in India, the Mumbai massacre:

President Obama opened his 10-day Asia trip on a somber note Saturday, memorializing the victims of the devastating terror attacks that tore through Mumbai two years ago. “We’ll never forget,” he said.

It is eerie that the President has such a repeated disconnect to Americans, the military, and is continually seen as unsympathetic, cold, uncaring, and tone deaf when it comes to his own country, but when overseas his heart pours out.

"Allahu Akbar!"

Soldiers reported that the gunman,Nidal Malik Hasan, shouted "Allahu Akbar!" — Arabic for "God is great!" — before opening fire, said Lt. Gen. Robert Cone, the base commander. He said officials had not confirmed that Hasan made the comment. He cleaned out his apartment and left a phone message saying goodbye to a friend in the days before the rampage that left 13 people dead, Reports AP. See the rest here

Police Officer Kimberly Munley shot Nidal Malik Hasan

Police Officer Kimberly Munley

Police Officer Kimberly Munley, a civilian police officer employed by the Army, was the first responder credited with shooting Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a military psychiatrist who allegedly opened fire in an on-base medical center.

Munley was shot in the exchange of fire but not before shooting Hasan four times. She was in stable condition after undergoing surgery, according to Lt. Gen. Robert Cone.

Military officials say the suspected shooter,Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, at Fort Hood was a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for six years before being transferred to the Texas base in July.

The officials had access to Hasan's military record. They said he received a poor performance evaluation while at Walter Reed.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because military records are confidential.

The Virginia-born soldier was single with no children. He was 39 years old.

Federal law enforcement officials say Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.
The officials say the postings appeared to have been made by Hasan, who was killed during the shooting incident that left least 11 others dead and 31 wounded. The officials say they are still trying to confirm that he was the author. They say an official investigation was not opened.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.
One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates suicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.
"To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause," said the Internet posting. "Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers."
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech University, where he was a member of the ROTC and earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1997. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001. At Walter Reed, he did his internship, residency and a fellowship.

CBS News, quoting an anonymous source, reported that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan was a licensed psychiatrist in Bethesda, Md. and drug and rehab specialist who got his Virginia psychiatry license in 2005, reported the Houston Chronicle
