I guess "Fully Engaged" doesn't mean knowing who works for him???

The President says he only found out that morning from Salazar.
Salazar either said, "I fired Liz Birnbaum" or "Liz Birnbaum resigned".
If he said "Liz Birnbaum no longer works for us", then the President's next question should have been "Why?" No logical person would have just left it lying in limbo.
