Augusta County and freedom of speech

Augusta County and freedom of speech

Maybe you've seen the tractor-trailers parked on private property adjoining the interstates with the message to vote out all (most) incumbents? They have been spotted on I-64 East between Staunton and Waynesboro, on I-81 North in Verona, and on I-81 North in Harrisonburg.

The Staunton News Leader saw them and in an article, Anti-incumbent signs on highway might flout county rules, we learn that Augusta County officials are looking into banning those tractors, saying ordinances in place call them billboards.

I am guessing the incumbent Supervisors don't like them much.

Une réunion entre amis après assemblée

My French is very limited.

Bill Shirley is Augusta Chair

Bill Shirley was unopposed in the run for Augusta Republican Chair, probably due to $100 filing fee.Just over 100 people signed up to join ACRC even with $10 fee.77 people are going to 6th District Convention.

Bill made a speech. Lots of stuff about "truth to light".
He apparently is not a big fan of RPV.
Richard Crouse, political director of the RPV was present, but not acknowledged.
Acting RPV Chair, Mike Thomas was similarly treated last.
Bill also came out for Danny Goad for the 6th District Chair

The Sheriff was at Augusta Mass Meeting with his deputies

There were a bunch of Randy Fisher's Deputies at the Mass meeting too.
I heard reports of 6 deputies.
I think there might have been a tad overstated.
Were they there to support Randy?
Or were they worried about invading Democrats?
Or were they worried about something else?
