Western State Hospital Lawsuit.....

A $100 million lawsuit against Western State Hospital has been transferred to Staunton Circuit Court. The lawsuit centers around Cesar Chumil, who died in 2009 at the age of 59. Chumil’s family contends he was kept in seclusion for 16 years at Western State, beginning in 1993. Read more here

Joseph Spencer DeJarnette (September 29, 1866 – September 3, 1957) was the director of Western State Hospital (located in Staunton, Virginia) from 1905 to November 15, 1943. He was a bit of a poet.....
