A representative of the New Albany Police Department says an Indiana couple was arrested after their inaction almost killed a 15-year-old girl.
Steve A. Wilburn and Shelly Wilburn both face charges of neglecting a dependent
The affidavit states that the girl was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in May 2002, when she was seven-years-old -- and the Wilburns were provided all the information required for them to treat the illness.
Detectives say the parents repeatedly failed to give the child her insulin which led the teen to be hospitalized three times.
