If you are underemployed, and have to scale back on necessities.........

Herbert Dreiseitl's water sculpture

Would you take your family out to a Broadway Show???
Well it seems that in Michigan, the government of Ann Arbor is doing just about that.

"The debate in Ann Arbor, where firefighters are being laid off due to a multimillion dollar budget deficit, is over an $850,000 piece of art.

That's how much the city has agreed to pay German artist Herbert Dreiseitl for a three-piece water sculpture that would go in front of the new police and courts building right by the City Hall..........."

In our family there is always a debate between "What we have to have" and "What we would like to have". When markets crash it changes priorities.
We have to have food, shelter, communication. We must have an oven, but do we have to have a Kenmore Elite Stainless Steel 30" Freestanding Natural Gas Range 7754 for almost $2K or do we have to have a Kenmore Ultra SilverSteel™ 30" Freestanding Electric Range 9433 for under $600.
Do we need firemen or a water sculpture?
The choice is obvious.
