The Easiest Way
A place in the last 16 would be great for the USA, and who knows what might happen then? The Americans have already shown they are capable of upsets against big teams, like when they beat Spain in the semifinal of the Confederations Cup last year.
The Not So Easy Way
Three draws from three games is rarely the stuff success is made of, but it could still be enough for Americans to qualify. It would require another poor showing from England. If the English loses against Slovenia, USA would progress in second place. Even if England draws, unless it scores at least two more goals than the United States does against Algeria, USA would advance.
And if U.S. loses to Algeria
This would send the USA packing . Based on form so far, the Americans should be favorites going into the game, but Algeria showed some spirit against England and cannot be discounted.
