"Jihad is a... legitimate tenet of Islam" says Obama Admin

"Jihad is a... legitimate tenet of Islam"
The president's top counterterrorism adviser,John Brennan on Wednesday called jihad a "legitimate tenet of Islam," arguing that the term "jihadists" should not be used to describe America's enemies.....

"Nor do we describe our enemy as 'jihadists' or 'Islamists' because jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one's community, and there is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic about murdering innocent men, women and children," Brennan said.

This is the same guy who last week wouldn't call Jerusalem "Jerusalem"

Hey Johnny Boy, There was a Jerusalem before there ever was Islam, There was a Jerusalem before there ever was Christianity. Stop Your Revisionist History.

  1. We do what we do because of what we believe. That would seem an obvious observation, but I fear many Americans reject it. Thus, they cannot understand why religious differnces make for societal differences.

To some extent, this misunderstanding of the importance of religion is due to the imperfections of mankind. We have trouble adhering to our beliefs. Many people do not well understand the tenets of "their religion." Nonetheless, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and so forth each create very different societies.

So is the Obama administration dealing correctly with Islam? Obama's policy largely immitates the policy of his predessor. That is, Bush also refused to characterize Islam as a terrorist religion. In fact, whether Islam actually promotes terrorism is debatable. What is not debatable is that many Muslims are hostile to other religious beliefs. Muslims do in fact tend to create theocracies that reject religious freedom. Therefore, Western democracies should discourage immigration from Islamic regions.

Unfortunately, elections can make a change for the worse. Our leaders, particularly those in the current administration, tend to be secularists. Secularists seem to see little difference between Christianity and Islam. Moreover, Secularist have inculcated their secularist notions into our interpretations of the Constitution and Federal statutes. Thus, they have tied our hands behind out backs.
