$68,308,000 Who else got a letter from Dept. of Commerce?? $68,308,000

$68,308,000
I got a letter yesterday from the government. I opened it, expecting that it might be important. it looked official. I read it and said, "WHAT THE HECK?"

The Census has sent me a letter telling me that they’re going to send me a letter.
It was so stupid, and a waste of tax money.
Lets do the rough numbers. If I was going to send out 114.8 million letters to every household in the US, I would need 114.8 sheets of paper, 114.8 envelopes, 114.8 stamps, gosh knows how many printer ink cartridges. I will assume that I can get 230 sheets per cartridge, so 1/2 million ink cartridges.
That mailing would roughly cost me ........

Paper- $785,000
Envelopes- $2,000,000
Stamps- $50,523,000
Ink- $15,000,000
-------------
$68,308,000

Add in labor for all the people needed to prepare the letter.
Add in the cost of the machines needed to prepare the letter.

You can see a copy of the letter here
