JMU Duke BBall Guard Arrested

Felony snowball throwing charges have been leveled against two JMU students for allegedly pelting a city plow and an undercover police car during Saturday's blizzard. Charles Gill and Ryan Knight, both 21, were nabbed by cops. According to police, the pair first targeted a city plow last Saturday afternoon. The driver responded by calling cops to report the frosty fusillade. When police responded to the scene in a bid to identify the assailants, their unmarked vehicle also came under an icy assault. Gill and Knight, a guard on JMU's basketball team, were then apprehended and booked into jail for throwing missiles at occupied vehicles, a felony. If convicted of the felonious snowball tossing, the men each face between one and five years in prison, and a maximum $2,500 fine.

  1. Though what they did was stupid...throwing snowballs at a plow does not constitute a criminal act unless tangible damage was caused, but that's just my opinion on the matter.

  2. I am sure when more thoughtful people get involved, the charges will be greatly decreased, unless there are facts that we don't know about. I would not arrest for snowballs personally, unless there was damage. One thing that you also have to put into the equation is how persistent the complainant was acting.

  3. The way the code is written, it is a felony. Disrupt a snow plow in motion, and it could get lethal to pedestrians. Something to think about...Shovel snow into a police car, damage about 5000 dollars of equipment...also a felony...just something to chew on...
