500th Point for OV, 12th straight Win for Caps ! ! !
The Washington Capitals won their 12th straight game on the strength of great first period goaltending by Jose Theodore and the leadership of Alex Ovechkin.
OV's goal that ended the second period was brilliant. He broke down the left side, a ranger all over him. He put the puck thru the defenders legs. Some how he lifted the puck up over Ranger goalie Lundqvist's shoulder. The Rangers were still leading 5-4 at that point, but the momentum had changed.
The third period was all Caps. Poti and Backstrom added 2 goals for a 6-5 final.
OV had 2 goals and an assist.Backstrom had 5 points.

If Alex can stay healthy, I dont see any reason why he cant challenge Gretzky's career goals record.
