The Legacy of Major Nidal Malik Hasan

The murder of thirteen US soldiers and the wounding of thirty others at Fort Hood, Texas, yesterday is an unprecedented even in the history of the US military. It marks the first time in the history of the republic that a commissioned officer in the Armed Forces has turned his weapon on American troops.

  1. It was very shocking but as I read the whole story, I'm afraid, I understand the mind of the guy a little bit more. That of course doesn't mean, I'm on board of what he has done - it's condemnable no matter trying to imagine being in the same situation, that's undoubted. But it seems that this horrifying story just assures us of the general knowledge, that the psychiatrists soon need some doctor of this kind even for themselves. Lorne
